WDC Properties was founded in 1989 by Mark Madden, a seasoned real estate professional who had previously owned and operated Colliers International Oregon offices. Mark had a vision of creating sustainable and innovative projects that would benefit the communities and the environment in the Pacific Northwest.
He leveraged his expertise and knowledge of the market to identify and develop prime locations for his ventures. In 2001, he expanded his portfolio by launching EkoLiving Apartments, a brand that offers eco-friendly and modern living spaces for residents who value quality and convenience.
Since then, WDC Properties has become a local leader and a trendsetter in the real estate industry, delivering value and growth to our clients, partners, and stakeholders. Today, WDC Properties employs a dedicated team of 50 professionals who share Mark’s commitment to excellence and sustainability, working together to create projects that enhance the quality of life for the communities we serve.

Wood Construction
As a Pacific Northwest company we are proud to use timber as our primary building material. 16% of all fossil fuels are burned creating concrete, steel, aluminum, and brick building materials. Wood harvested from sustainable forestry is a local, renewable material, ensuring sustainability of the local economy, and the construction process.
Sustainable Design
Our building designs ensure that we use approximately two-thirds the resources per unit of the average American apartment during construction. We work closely with the Energy Trust of Oregon to ensure that we use energy-efficient appliances, light fixtures, and water-saving faucets for sustainable and efficient operations.
Small Business
We work primarily with small, local, businesses both during construction and while managing our properties. We also seek local partnerships whenever possible. As a small business with less than 50 employees, it is important to us to contribute to the vibrancy of the areas surrounding our apartments by supporting the local community.
